Neenah 25, Appleton North 14

APPLETON – Grant Dean scored a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns as the Rockets held off the Lightning at Paul Engen Field.

Dean scored on runs of 11 and 2 yards and also caught a 2-point conversion pass for Neenah.

The Rockets had fallen behind early in the third quarter when Appleton North’s DJ Wilson scored from a yard out to help the Lightning take a 14-10 lead.

Evan Vanevenhoven had 18 rushes for 98 yard to pace Neenah (4-2, 3-1 Fox Valley Association). He was also 7-for-11 for 79 yards passing.

North drops to 4-2 and 3-1 in the FVA. Charlie Olson was 15 of 27 for 144 yards passing and had a 23-yard touchdown pass to Keegan Muchow in the first quarter.

KIMBERLY – The Papermakers rolled up nearly 400 yards of offense as they built a 35-0 halftime advantage and never looked back in the FVA matchup.

Kegan Pleau led the Kimberly attack, rushing 15 times for 132 yards and two touchdowns, while Braedon Ellefson completed 8 of 12 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed twice for 37 yards and a score.

The Papermakers had 384 total yards, including 209 rushing.

Appleton West 36, Green Bay Preble 35

APPLETON – Conner Navis threw five touchdown passes, including the game-winner and subsequent two-point conversion run with 47.7 seconds left, as the Terrors upended Preble.

The win improves West’s record to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the Fox River Classic Conference North.

West was behind 35-20 after three quarters, but Navis hit Parrion Peace on a 41-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. He then had a two-point conversion pass to Bennett Nelson to pull the Terrors to within 35-28.

On the Terrors’ next possesion, Navis found Chase Verboomen for the touchdown and then ran in the two-point conversion, leaping for the pylon to net the two points. West’s defense held on Preble’s final drive to secure the victory.

Navis also had a 19-yard touchdown pass to Nelson in the first quarter and also hit Peace on touchdown throws of 10 and 33 yards.

Notre Dame 28, Menasha 21

MENASHA – The Tritons got a 34-yard touchdown pass from Max Pierce to Charlie Hornacek with 12.9 seconds remaining to pull out the win.

Menasha rallied from a 21-7 deficit in the final period on a 3-yard touchdown run by Elijah Gigl, a 28-yard touchdown pass from Logan Liegl to Jaydon Lanser and Liegl’s 2-point conversion.

Christian Collins carried the ball 30 times for 218 yards for Notre Dame.

Winneconne 37, Xavier 19

APPLETON – The Wolves took control of the game with a 28-point second quarter in the victory over the Hawks in a Bay Conference showdown.

Brody Schaffer ran for two touchdowns and passed for two touchdowns for Winneconne, which improves to 4-0 in the Bay Conference and 6-0 overall. Xavier falls to 1-3 in the Bay and 3-3 overall.

Xavier scored first on a 23-yard run by Cole Hietpas in the first quarter, but Winneconne responded with a 1-yard TD run by Schaffer.

Bryce Jones put Winneconne ahead to stay with a 70-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second quarter after Winneconne blocked a field goal attempt by the Hawks.

Schaffer followed with a 73-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, then a 15-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Quigley and a 15-yard touchdown pass to Kaden Carter to give the Wolves a 35-7 lead at the half.

Xavier got a 50-yard touchdown run and a 45-yard touchdown run by Matthew Potter in the fourth quarter.

APPLETON – Lucas Papendorf’s 21-yard touchdown pass to David Schumacher with 29 seconds left got the win for the Foxes in thrilling fashion over the Thunder.

It was Seymour’s first loss of the season and dropped the Thunder from the top spot in the Bay Conference.

Papendorf also had a 14-yard touchdown run and a 21-yard touchdown strike to Nic Martin.

Carson Staffeldt had a 30-yard touchdown reception for Seymour with Mason Bunnell and Xavier Salzman adding touchdown runs in the fourth quarter.

FREEDOM – Aaron Hambel rushed for two touchdowns and Drew Kortz threw for 302 yards and two TDs and returned an interception 74 yards for another as the Irish crusied past the Vikings in North Eastern Conference action.

Parker Jochimsen was Kortz’s top target, catching 10 passes for 160 yards and a score.

Freedom led 7-0 after one, 28-0 at the half and 35-0 after three.

Brayden Jeanquart scored Denmark’s lone touchdown on a 15-yard pass from Thomas Bienapfli.

The win moves the Irish to 4-0 in the conference and 6-0 overall, while Denmark falls to 0-4 and 0-6.

CRIVITZ – The Wolverines scored two second-half touchdowns as they downed the Chiefs in Northwoods Conference action.

Brody MacNeil powered the Crivitz offense, rushing 37 times for 185 yards and two touchdowns, while Devon Weiss added an 11-yard touchdown run to turn an 8-7 deficit into a 13-8 lead after three quarters.

Isaiah Carton led the Shiocton offense, completing 4 of 15 passes for 63 yards and one touchdown.

EAGLE RIVER – Eli Kerner rushed 18 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns as the Eagles built a 17-0 lead after three and held off the Truckers the rest of the way.

Jacob Beer also rushed for a touchdown and had a 20-yard TD reception from Aidan Minx to power Northland Pines.

Zach Johnson led the way for Clintonville, throwing for 223 yards and two touchdowns. He was intercepted five times.

The win moves the Eagles to 1-3 in the Northwoods Conference and 1-5 overall, while the Truckers fall to 0-4 in the conference and 1-5 overall.
