Tennessee signee DeWayne Brown and highly recruited Oxford junior Jaylen Alexander headline the finalists for the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s boys basketball Player of the Year in each classification.
The ASWA prep committee selects three finalists from five first-team All-State players in each AHSAA classification and in the AISA. Each of those finalists is invited to the annual Player of the Year banquet sponsored by Alfa Insurance and the Alabama High School Athletic Directors and Coaches Association.
