This year, Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone reported a lack of personnel and had to request help from nearby counties.

“There are 9,000 firefighters in Los Angeles County between the county’s fire department and 29 other fire agencies, which is still not enough to address all the fires in the region,” Maronne told the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday.

Fox News reported that firefighters were unable to contain fires raging since earlier this week because of strong winds, extreme dry weather, lack of visibility and outdated water supply systems in the region.

Donald Trump Sr. lashed out at California Governor Gavin Newsom on Wednesday, calling him “Newscum” and the fires “virtually apocalyptic” in a Truth Social post that pointed the finger at state rules protecting endangered species for limiting the amount of water that gets sent south from Northern California.

It is a part of a yearslong blazing feud Trump has had with top Democrats in California — a solidly Blue state that is constantly at risk of deadly blazes — about forest management processes and wildfire containment plans.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine, first responders were extinguishing fires and evacuating dozens of victims in Zaporizhzhia after Russia attacked the center of the city with several glide bombs, killing 13 and injuring more than 100 people on Wednesday.
