Mitch Mascari scored 26 points to lead the Drake men’s basketball team to a 66-51 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Sunday at the Knapp Center.
The Bulldogs are 2-0 to start the Ben McCollum era. Their next game is Saturday at home vs. Florida Gulf Coast.
All but two of Mascari’s points came from beyond the arc as he shot 8-for-13 from long range.
Bennett Stirtz and Cam Manyawu both added 13 points for Drake. Stirtz had four steals on the defensive end.
Drake trailed by a point at halftime before outscoring SFA 41-25 in the second half.
Mascari and Stirtz both played 39 minutes in the victory.
