Tech billionaire Elon Musk dropped a disability slur in a post attacking actor Ben Stiller for remarks about his support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, TMZ reported on Wednesday.
Musk, who supported Donald Trump and bankrolled much of his voter outreach operation, made an X post in which he shared a comment from Stiller that ‘woke America’ killed “edgier” comedy.
It included a photo of Simple Jack from the movieTropic Thunder, a character who had learning disabilities.
‘Damn he went full r—-d,’ wrote Musk in a caption.
Stiller has openly acknowledged that Tropic Thunder, which tells the story of a group of actors deployed to a jungle to film a war movie who accidentally end up in the middle of a real war zone, might not be able to be made in today’s culture.
The subject of Musk’s ire was that Stiller made comments in interviews about “wokeness” hindering comedy, while at the same time saying he “proudly” backed Kamala Harris. Musk considers the Democratic Party to be at the front of those cultural changes.
