The Saturday Night Live crew bowed down to Donald Trump in a sarcastic show of praise just days after the election.
And during the spoof honoring of the new president-elect, the cast members heaped blame on their colleagues in case Trump made good on his threats of retribution.
“We’re so excited to debut our new impression, hot jacked Trump,” said cast member Sarah Sherman Saturday before the season’s Trump impersonator, James Austin Johnson, appeared Rambo-style, muscle-bound and with a red bandana tied around his head.
“That’s right! It’s me! Hot jacked Trump. They finally got the body right,” he said.
“But from now on, we’re going to do a very flattering portrayal of Trump because he’s frankly a hero and he’s going to make a great president, eventually king. We love you, buddy!”
The cast had started somberly describing the fallout of Tuesday’s election.
“On Tuesday, Americans went and elected Donald Trump to be the next president of the United States,” the assembled cast began.
“To many people, including many people watching this show right now, the results were shocking and even horrifying. Donald Trump, who tried to forcibly overturn the results of the last election, was returned to office by an overwhelming majority.

This is the same Donald Trump who openly called for vengeance against his political enemies. And now thanks to the Supreme Court, there are no guard rails. Nothing to protect the people who are brave enough to speak out against him.”
That’s when they launched into the comical fawning. The cast that’s been blisteringly critical of Trump since the day he announced his presidential run pre-2016 claimed to have always been behind him.
“That is why we at SNL would like to say to Donald Trump, we have been with you all along,” said Michael Che.
“Every single person on this stage voted for you,” said Sherman. “… We look at you and think, that’s me, that’s the man I want my future children to look up to.”
Colin Jost said, “And Mr. Trump, we know that you say things that are controversial sometimes, but we know you’re just speaking the truth. And I hate how the lamestream media — Michael Che — ties to spin it, to make you seem foolish.”
“So if you’re keeping some kind of list of your enemies, then…” said Che before Michael Longfellow finished his sentence: “We should not be on that list.”
“And it’s c-h-e, Che,” added Jost.
