The Nation’s Joan Walsh is out with a column calling J.D. Vance a “stalker” for following Vice President Kamala Harris around the country.

“The rollicking Harris-Walz lovefest was in sharp contrast with Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance’s dour appearance in Philly earlier in the day,” Walsh described. “Vance is scheduled to trail the pair to all the swing states they plan to visit this week. What is Donald Trump doing, sending his weirdo running mate out to stalk the charismatic Democratic duo, like a hangdog ex-husband? The low-energy Trump has exactly one event this week, in the critical swing state of… Montana.”

Vance’s rally in Philly had about 200 people and he spoke under a looming blue banner reading: “Kamala.”

The Democratic team, by contrast, exceeded capacity in the arena. In Michigan, Vance spoke outside a police station — with more staff and media members than supporters.

Vance aimed to make the comments about immigration but insulted Gov. Tim Walz’s (D-MN) 24-year service in the Army. Vance, who revealed he’s never witnessed a “firefight” while serving for four years, accused the command sergeant major of “stolen valor.”

It drew attention to Walz’s years of service compared to Trump’s tales of “bone spurs” keeping him out of Vietnam.

Then there was Wisconsin. A week after Vance and running mate Donald Trump were labeled as “weird” by Democrats, Vance was photographed and filmed marching with a posse of white men and Secret Service agents to the vice president’s plane.

Walsh noted more than 50,000 people RSVP’d for the Michigan rally, so they had to move locations.

“He’d be better off campaigning from his couch than stalking Harris and Walz around the swing states. Nice work, Donald Trump, setting your running mate up for failure,” mocked Walsh.

“Why am I not surprised that this weirdo is also a stalker,” said Democratic Party chair Jamie Harrison.

General counsel Jamie O’Grady agreed, calling it “creepy, weird stalker energy.”

The group Vote Vets shared a video saying, “This creepy weirdo is giving off serious stalker vibes.”
