IBSA is pleased to announce the creation of the IBSA Sports Committee Chairmen Advisory Council, a new initiative aimed at strengthening coordination and communication across IBSA sports.
This advisory council will bring together the chairpersons of IBSA Sport Committees for regular discussions on key topics such as the development of educational programs for referees, coaches, and athletes, as well as the introduction of a certification and standardization system for sports equipment used in IBSA competitions.
To ensure effective communication between this council and the IBSA Executive Board, IBSA Executive Board Member Tinatin Revazashvili has been appointed to oversee the process. She will coordinate monthly meetings and provide regular updates to the Executive Board.
The IBSA Administration will also play an active role in supporting the work of this council. Furthermore, IBSA aims to expand the council’s reach in the future by involving representatives from all sports in which blind and visually impaired athletes compete, such as Para Athletics, Para Swimming, Winter Sports, and more.
This initiative represents a significant step forward in fostering collaboration, enhancing sports development, and ensuring IBSA remains at the forefront of blind sports worldwide.
