Lawmakers are reacting to an explosive new scandal embroiling Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson (R-NC) as he seeks the gubernatorial mansion in his state.
CNN’s KFILE reported that Robinson, prior to entering politics, proclaimed himself a “Black Nazi” and fantasized about owning slaves on a message board for the pornographic site Black Africa.
Robinson flatly denied the posts came from him, even though KFILE matched personal details about the poster to him.
Republican Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana deflected when Raw Story asked for his thoughts Thursday after the last House vote of the day, which just wrapped as the news broke.

“I don’t live in North Carolina, so it’s up to the people of North Carolina,” Banks told Raw Story. “You’ve got a bunch of members of Congress here to talk to about that, and we’ll see how it goes.”
When asked whether it would harm the GOP brand, Banks agreed that it wasn’t a good development.
Rep. Joe Neguse (D-CO) told Raw Story he hadn’t seen the report โ yet.
“I haven’t seen any of that,” said Neguse, though he promised to read up on the CNN report and weigh in as soon as possible.
Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) gave a blunt reaction to The Hill, calling the allegations โnot good.โ
Meanwhile, Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) called the reports โvery concerning.โ
