The Beaver County Times will recognize high school football players across the Beaver Valley for their impressive performances each week. Here are the standout efforts from the second week of the WPIAL playoffs.

Mason Dixon, Central Valley

Dixon found the end zone twice while rushing 14 times for 195 yards in the Warrior’s 35-7 win over Freeport in the WPIAL Class 3A quarterfinals. 

Jance Henry, Central Valley

Henry also rushed for two scores in the Warriors’ quarterfinal victory over Freeport as he rushed 13 times for 102 yards.

Chris Smiley, Ellwood City 

The senior quarterback went 13-for-20 throwing for 165 yards and one touchdown in the Wolverines’ 13-12 win over South Allegheny in the WPIAL Class 2A quarterfinals.

Elijah Palmer-McCane, Ellwood City

Palmer-McCane rushed 23 times for 93 yards while also hauling in four receptions for 57 and scoring two total touchdowns in the Wolverines’ win against the Gladiators. 

Robbie Janis, Riverside 

Janis rushed 17 times for 69 yards while also scoring the team’s lone points of the contest as he returned a field goal attempt that the senior blocked, taking it 91 yards for a touchdown during the Panthers’ quarterfinal 34-7 loss to Seton LaSalle. 

Tiqwai Hayes, Aliquippa

Hayes scored two total touchdowns in the Quips’ 38-21 loss to Thomas Jefferson. The senior running back rushed for 46 yards while hauling in three receptions for 76 yards.

Marques Council Jr., Aliquippa

Council was 15-for-34 passing for 260 yards and two touchdowns in the loss to the Jaguars.

Arison Walker, Aliquippa

Walker hauled in six receptions for 88 yards in the team’s loss to Thomas Jefferson Friday night.
