North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson appeared Thursday afternoon on CNN to again deny reporting that he expressed appreciation for slavery and transgender pornography on a pornographic site — claiming it was the work of artificial intelligence.

Robinson gave an interview to the KFile reporter who revealed comments — including an anecdote of spying on a women’s locker room and the statement “I’m a black NAZI”— made on the site Nude Africa years before the Trump-endorsed candidate entered the public realm.

“I’m not going to get into the minutia of how someone manufactured this, all these salacious tabloid lies, but I can tell you this,” Robinson told Andrew Kaczynski. “There’s been over $1 million spent on me through AI by a billionaire’s son who’s bound and determined to destroy me.”

Robinson’s comment was directed at Democratic candidate North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein, whose father he has frequently used to target his political opponent.

“The things that people can do with the internet now is incredible,” Robinson said. “These are not my words.”

Kaczynski asked for clarification about how Robinson believed Stein embedded comments published over a five-year period from 2008 to 2013.

“Are you saying that somebody was somehow manufacturing biographical details to exactly match you using your username?” he asked.

“I have absolutely no idea how this was done,” said Robinson. “I have five weeks left in this campaign to focus on the substantive issues that North Carolinians face — I do not have time for tabloid trash.”

Robinson asserted he will remain in the race — despite reports that North Carolina insiders have been urging him to step aside — and denied campaign staffers have begun to quit.

“We are not getting out of this race,” Robinson said. “There are people who are counting on us to win this race because, again, we don’t want a governor who’s going to be a person that can’t be counted on to tell the truth.”
