LeBron James’s Lobos 1707 Partners With (RED) On New Bottle

by

Lobos 1707 Tequila & Mezcal launched a new bottle today in partnership with Bono’s (RED). The bottle takes the brand’s Reposado tequila and puts it in a red bottle emblazoned with the (RED) logo. As part of the partnership the brand has committed to contributing $100,000 to the Global Fund.

“To support our mission, we chose our award-winning Reposado because of its bold flavor profiles,” Diego Osorio Founder and CCO of Lobos 1707 tells Forbes. “This expression has received many prestigious industry awards, including being named Best in Class at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and more.”

Lobos 1707 Tequila & Mezcal was established as an independent spirits producer in 2020 by Osorio, with investor and athlete LeBron James. In December of last year, the brand expanded its reach into the UK.

Lobos 1707 Reposado is made with 100% blue weber agave and is finished in sherry wine casks. The tequila is influenced by both old and new world techniques and harvested, distilled, and bottled in Jalisco, Mexico before being aged in American White Oak Barrels and finished in Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry wine barrels.

“This is the same great award-winning Lobos 1707 Reposado that is always available for purchase, but now with a larger purpose to support (RED)’s organization,” says Osorio.

The tequila has won notable awards such as Best in Class at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and a double gold medal at the 2022 SIP Awards.

“(RED) has a long history of partnering with the world’s most iconic brands to meet consumers where they are to generate money and heat for life-saving programs that provide testing, treatment, and care in places where injustice has enabled pandemics to thrive.,” Jennifer Lotito, President and COO of (RED) tells Forbes.”We’re delighted to add Lobos 1707 to our diverse and dedicated family of partners.”

Lobos 1707 isn’t the first alcohol brand to work with (RED), but it is the first tequila. Lotito says that previously the group has collaborated with Penfolds, Champagne Billecart-Salmon, and Belvedere Vodka.

To date, (RED) has generated over $750 million for the Global Fund, helping more than 245 million people. Beyond just those names in alcohol, Lobos 1707 joins a wide range of brands that have partnered with the organization including Apple, Louis Vuitton, and Starbucks, amongst others.

The Lobos 1707 (RED) Limited-Edition Reposado Tequila will be available on shelves at select retailers in AZ, CA, FL, GA, IL, IN, LA, NJ, NV, NY, TN, TX, WA, and WI or online on Lobos 1707 for the same price as the brand’s original bottle of Reposado which varies between $55-65.
